Workshop I in Lithuania 05-06.08.2021
On August 5/6, 2021, in Vilnius, Hilton Garden Inn hosted the project Development of Social Dialogue Procedures and Cooperation in Lithuanian Law Enforcement Services financed by Innovation Norway.
The event was attended by officials of the penitentiary system from all over Lithuania and the heads of the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Prisons of the Republic of Lithuania.
The main focus was on the modernization of the Lithuanian penitentiary system and the strengthening of social dialogue. Representatives of the ministry presented their vision of what the penitentiary system should look like, what threats it sees and how to manage them in cooperation with the social partners.
Representatives of the Ministry and the Department of Prisons spoke about the expectations of employers in the implementation of social dialogue, participated in discussions with other participants in the project.
During the event, the current collective agreement of the penitentiary system branch was examined in detail, and the collective agreements of the institutions were discussed.
Suggestions were made regarding information / consultation procedures, involvement of employees in solving topical issues related to the employment relationship, and good practices of other countries were shared.
The information gathered during the event will be used to strengthen the cooperation of social partners in the Lithuanian penitentiary system.
